A few things to consider to protect yourself:
Just because an online store presents itself as an authorised AudioValve retailer, this does not mean that it is. Please verify with our list of AudioValve authorised online retailers. Showing AudioValve products on a site is no guarantee either that the retailer is an authorised dealer.
Products bought from a non-authorised retailer do not carry the original AudioValve warranty. This means that if you buy from a non-authorised retailer and you encounter a problem with the product, you will have to go back to that retailer to get help and we cannot guarantee the quality of the assistance you will then receive.
Old or obsolete products:
It is not uncommon for non-authorised retailers to show and sell old or obsolete products they may have acquired from a third party. Here again, please make sure you know what you are buying. It is easy for you to verify: if a product is current it is shown as current on our web site. Of course you are always welcome to contact us directly.
Counterfeit, and defaced products:
You have to be aware that buying from a non-authorised retailer exposes you to possibly purchasing a product that is not a genuine AudioValve product. At the very least it could be defaced, as we have seen many with serial numbers that have been tampered with or removed altogether.
Unfair commerce practices:
Non-authorised retailers do not have the obligation our authorised retailers have to market and sell our products properly. You could be exposed to bait and switch, where one product is advertised but not available, and where you are directed to buy another one, possibly of another brand.
You could also see non-authorised retailers advertising products they do not have in stock, they sometimes use that to build up traffic on the reputation of higher-end brands.
If you buy from a non-authorised retailer and he closes shop shortly after, you will have no recourse. If you buy from one of our authorised retailers and he closes shop, we will be able to support your product and assist you in finding an authorised retailer to help you with your installation or with any other needs you may have.
AudioValve home audio
products are sold in the United States through a network of
authorized dealers selected by AudioValve. Some of these dealers may
have Internet sites on which they are authorized by AudioValve to
sell a select mix of our products. AudioValve dealers have been
chosen for their ability to properly represent, sell and, in most
cases, service AudioValve products. AudioValve provides a warranty on
products sold only by our authorized dealers.
AudioValve products sold by unauthorized dealers sometimes are purchased on a secondary "gray" market and can be pirated goods not produced by AudioValve, damaged, defective or so-called "B" stock goods, or stolen goods.
Beware of counterfeit AudioValve products.
Like many premium goods, AudioValve products are being duplicated and sold, usually at drastically reduced prices and diminished quality. These products do not meet AudioValve standards and are not covered under AudioValve warranty. If you would like to report a suspected counterfeit AudioValve product or have questions concerning this issue, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-AudioValve. We appreciate your help in maintaining the integrity of the AudioValve brand.
Beware of serial number alterations.
Many times, these
products have serial numbers that have been changed or even removed
all together by the unauthorized reseller. Any product represented to
be built by AudioValve that does not have a serial number issued by
AudioValve should be held suspect by the customer. Removal or
alteration of the original AudioValve serial number will
automatically void the warranty on that product. Unauthorized dealers
either knowingly deceive the consumer by telling them the product is
covered by the manufacturer's warranty, or they attempt to make
repairs themselves. Repairs made by an unauthorized dealer may not
meet AudioValve standards due to the use of inappropriate parts or
repair by untrained personnel.
Also, if there is no registration card, or if the mailing address on the card is not either AudioValve Germany or you are directed to not send in a registration card to AudioValve, you should immediately contact whoever you purchased that product from for resolution. The best resolution would be shipment back to that seller for a full refund. Many web sites change names and locations frequently so they cannot be reached to solve customer problems. Other sites simply go out of business.
